SEPTEMBER 25, 2024
With fall now in full swing, the exterior construction elevator has officially been disassembled, and workers are now using the main building elevators, signaling a major milestone in the project. Concrete has been poured in all areas where the construction elevator once stood, and the team is currently installing window receptors in those sections.
On the upper floors, glass is being installed on level 25, offering a preview of the breathtaking views future residents will enjoy. Balcony railings have been completed through floor 12. Inside, drywall is in place up to the 18th floor, while framing has reached the top on floor 27. Tile, countertops, backsplashes, and flooring are being installed through the 16th floor. Down below, work on the retail storefront glass is well underway, with retail spaces expected to be ready for delivery next week.

Summer in Durham is in full swing, and exciting progress is being made at The Novus. The glass façade is now being installed on the 23rd floor, giving a glimpse of the stunning panoramic views future residents will enjoy. Balcony railings are being added on the 8th floor, perfect for serene and private moments outdoors. Inside, premium cabinets and countertops have been installed through the 12th floor, and painters are adding the final touches through these floors as well.
The building’s structure is fully framed up to the 27th floor, and drywall installation has reached the 19th floor, bringing each residence closer to completion. As the construction team prepares to dismantle the construction elevator on August 1, stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build skyward.
APRIL 4, 2024
Exterior progress is visible as the glass installation continues to proceed forward, with the podium now fully sealed. Currently, the focus is on completing glass installation on the 17th floor of the tower. With the podium glass installation complete, attention will shift to completion of framing the podium units, while framing work within the tower progresses up to the 23rd floor.
The cooling tower has been successfully positioned atop the building and efforts are now underway to waterproof the 7th floor amenity deck. Concurrently, the construction team is actively engaged in the build-out of the elevators.
JANUARY 23, 2024
Concrete pouring has successfully reached the 28th floor, and work is now focused on the final section of concrete, which includes the roof above the 28th floor. This area, designated for the cooling tower, is anticipated to be completed by the end of the week. Simultaneously, there's active progress in the framing of The Novus condo units inside the building, with installation completed up through the 20th floor. In addition, glass installation is underway, with installers currently working on both the podium and the tower sections. The glass installation on the 10th floor is in progress, and the commencement of work on the 11th floor is scheduled for later this week. Things in downtown Durham are looking up!

Concrete is being poured for The Novus’ 19th floor - the first of the condominium levels! The concrete and sleeving installation is taking place through the 19th floor. The face of the building is taking shape as the precast brick is being installed along the facade. Ductwork installation is underway on the first 14 floors as well. The next major step is the commencement of the glass installation in the building. We can't wait to see the beautiful sunsets reflecting in the windows in downtown Durham!
